- Lenny Henry .
- Phil Daoust.
- Lenny Henry allows a series of characters to emerge over his new two-hour show.
- Lenny Henry has a lot to apologise for, as he keeps reminding us in his new West End show. ... Henry, 16, was the only non-white among the blacked-up performers, and comperes would introduce him as "the darky off the telly". ...
- It's time to forgive him - not just for that, but for the decades when he spread himself so thin that "starring Lenny Henry" became the hallmark of undemanding entertainment. ...
- For a start, this is a show, rather than the usual incoherent collection of gags or sketches. Like Henry's last stage outing, it has been whipped into shape by Simon McBurney, director of acclaimed theatre company Complicite. ...
- These are "real" people with stories to tell, yet they're also voices inside Henry's head. By the end of the show the multiple personalities are slugging it out as youthful indiscretions come home to roost.
- But Henry's at his most effective when he calms down and lets reality seep in. ...
- Henry has often talked of his desire to do more straight acting; this show suggests not only that he could handle it, but that when it comes to tragicomedy he could blow most of the competition out of the water.

58. The Sailor Story 1991-1997
- fp.image.dk
- On one of these occasions the Nickelodeon took a shower on stage, unfortunately it had rained on the instrument, so Phils keyboard refused to work. The only thing Sailor could do, was to take the keyboard from Suzi Quatros band, so Phil was able to play his side of the Nickelodeon. ... But in the end (and maybe especially because of this) it was a real great show, which the audience enjoyed very much.
- On the radio they played the first three songs of this evening: The Secretary, La Cumbia and Girls Girls Girls (- for the first time with a special German announcement from Henry). ...
- Although Sailor were often regarded as one of the best bands of the evening, they unfortunately had to play at the beginning of every show, because the Nickelodeon was said to have a "disturbing influence" on the scene, that had to disappear as quickly as possible.
- While Phil, Grant and Henry kept on discussing with CMC, Georg left the bar of the hotel, and after a short talk to some fans, went to his room.
- This was made possible due to Georgs new construction: A percussion part put on top of the big drum Phil normally used to play during The Old Nickelodeon Sound.
- On November 18, 1995 it could already be noticed that Georg did not enjoy the show any more. ...
- After the normal encore Give Me Shakespeare they played La Cumbia a second time this time "with a little help from their fans", this made the end of the show a bit different. ...
- Henry, Grant and Phil looked for a new singer and finally found a marvellous man who was a formar background singer for Shakin Stevens and Cliff Richard; his name is Peter Lincoln.
- Sailors show started at 5 PM and they played almost all of the songs they had played at the last gig with Georg. ...
- After a few special surprises for the audience, for example Stay the Night sung by Henry, the show was finished with a special encore: the new raggae version of the old song Karma Chameleon cowritten by Phil when he was travelling with Culture Club in the 80s. ...
- The whole show went great for Sailor and many people didnt even notice that there was another singer on the stage. ...
- It was planned to show a part of an old video, so the crew refused to use the newly recorded version with Peter. On one hand Sailor didnt want Peter to sing playback with the voice of Georg Kajanus, but on the other hand this show is quite popular in Germany, so Sailor decided to stay and at least remind the viewers of the fact that they is still alive.
- As Phil states: "The new one is much easier to travel with".

- “Henry’s House” tells the story of a group of children - headed by the young prince Henry - sent away from their homes by their parents when trouble befalls their town. - The Saturday night show I attended saw a sold out crowd in the smallish Hubbard Hall (crowd estimate = 200). ...
- In an effort to get my hands around this event while not going on forever, I will present interesting parts of the show in this convenient bulletpoint format:.
- I liked that the band played an important part in the show, with band members also playing characters in the story. ... Lo was Henry’s father. ... At one point in the show, Crazy Davie was told by one the children characters that he needed “go back upstairs and play bass on the next song”. This type of stuff worked great and served to blur the line between musical and rock show.
